With Marvel Studios’ Black Widow movie currently shooting, a familiar MCU face has seemingly been confirmed to be a part of the solo movie for Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff.

Via Just Jared, William Hurt has been pictured on the set of Black Widow, which obviously indicates that Hurt’s General 'Thunderbolt' Ross will be a part of the film.

By all accounts, Black Widow is currently in the additional photography stage and Johansson is not on location at this point.

How US Secretary of State Thaddeus E. Ross is used in Black Widow remains to be seen. Given that the movie will take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, he could feasibly be on the hunt for Natasha following the events of Civil War.

One other school of thought is that Hurt is on set to film a post-credits sting that could see Ross looking to assemble the nefarious Thunderbolts team of villains. Then again, others may still be holding out hope that General Ross could well be being lined up to take on his comic book alter-ego of Red Hulk…

To be directed by Berlin Syndrome’s Cate Shortland, Black Widow is currently set for a May 1st, 2020 release.
