"To theatres it will come"... eventually! FANBOYS poster!

The Weinsteins announced this week that FANBOYS, the geek's wet dream of a movie, set in 1998 about a bunch of kids who attempt to break in to George Lucas€™ Skywalker Ranch to see a print of STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE before it's theatrical release has been pushed back yet again. The movie will be opening on February 6th 2009 but at least that date seems definitive. And The Weinsteins are finally starting to promote the movie now, ironically with the tagline "to theatres it will come" and clearly not with the Drew Struzan poster designs you probably expected. FANBOYS actually has a bunch of well known people involved, some of whom have become more well known because of the movies they have done after this film was shot, re-shot, shelved and then resurrected! Names such as Jay Baruchel, Dan Fogler, Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Kristen Bell and Seth Rogen, though surprisingly none of these recognisable faces feature on the poster. The poster, which debuted at Cinematical, undeniably parodies or plain just rips off the Judd Apatow posters for THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN and KNOCKED UP. via - /film
