10 Typecast Movie Roles That Totally Ruined Major Plot Reveals

3. Marion Cotillard €“ The Dark Knight Rises

The Big Reveal Marion Cotillard's Miranda Tate is actually Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra€™s al Ghul, and she€™s the one behind the plan to level Gotham and complete her father€™s work. Why It€™s So Obvious Similar to Charlize Theron, Marion Cotillard is well known for taking on interesting roles. She won an Oscar for her role as Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose. She played twin sisters with completely opposite personalities in Pretty Things. And anyone who€™d seen her in Christopher Nolan€™s previous film, Inception, could guess there would be more than meets the eye to Miranda Tate. Lo and behold, after being the fairly passive love interest with whom Christian Bale€™s Bruce Wayne has sex, she finally reveals herself to be the villainous mastermind we all expected her to be in the first place. If Cotillard hadn€™t worked with Nolan on Inception, it might have been harder to see it coming. But her role as Mal tipped everyone off to the subterfuge in Nolan€™s final Batman film to the point where Cotillard was forced to continually deny it during the run up to release. And, if you remember, no one was convinced by her responses.
