Valkyrie coming 08-08-08

Valkyrie is coming a little later next Summer than I expected. United Artists have given the Bryan Singer directed World War II movie a release date of 08-08-08 which interestingly puts it up against a potential huge Brendan Fraser hit Journey 3-D, the Sony comedy The Pineapple Express, the Walt Disney half real life/ half animated movie South of the Border and a movie nobody wants to see The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2. Putting Valkyrie opposite Journey 3-D is very dangerous if you ask me. I have a feeling the 3-D adventure flick has real big money potential next year, in line with the first movie in The Mummy series back in 1999. Can't wait for this Valkyrie though and it looks like the majority of the cast has been put together right now... Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Patrick Wilson,Stephen Fry, Tom Wilkinson, Carice Van Houten and Eddie Izzard. Still no word on who will be playing Hitler, but I'm not fully aware of the real life "Operation Valkyrie" story so I'm not sure how big of a role he will have in the flick. Is he just the target, or is he going to get a fully rounded character? source - coming soon
