Warner Bros Acquire Image Comic UNDYING LOVE

Set in Hong Kong, the Image series is about a hardened American ex-soldier who falls in love with a Chinese vampire.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Warner Bros. are to turn Image Comics' recent series Undying Love into a feature film with Chris Bender, Stephen L€™Heaureux and J.C. Spink attached to produce. Set in a mood-evoking and cinematic Hong Kong, €˜Undying Love€™ presents a simple concept: hardened American ex-soldier, John Sargent, has fallen in love with a beautiful Chinese woman named Mei. The only thing keeping the star-crossed lovers apart is the small issue of Mei being vampire. Yup... it's another vamp love story. Determined to ensure the possibility of a future together, Sargent sets out with Mei on a journey to free her from this curse and make her human once more. Further complicating their desperate situation, their unlikely human/vampire partnership has piqued the interests of other strange beings drawn from Chinese folklore where our hero must save Mei from the vampire who created her, and a large army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld! The writer of the series Tomm Coker and illustrator Daniel Freedman will work together on the screenplay for the adaptation but no word on who might direct just yet. Last week, we posted our list of 5 Image Comics that we wanted to see adapted for t.v. and film.
