6. Great Grey Wolf Sif (DS1)

Another fight that isn’t here due to its difficulty, as the strategy with this boss is to just stay underneath him and avoid his spin attacks.

No, this fight is here because of the emotion that comes with it. First, we’re forced to fight a dog, and yes, I know it’s a wolf, but come on – no-one actually wants to kill this boss.

And if you do the DLC first, it’s even worse because you’ve met Sif before and helped him. He recognises you, but as you go to pet him, he howls and reluctantly picks up his sword. In this version of the fight, neither of you want this to happen. It’s an unbearably sad moment.

If you manage to overcome your emotions initially, wait until he starts limping near death. Honestly, this fight is only difficult because you’re forced to do it through your floods of tears.

This is, by far, one of the most emotional moments of the Souls series.
