Following up from the genre-breaking 2018 reboot of the franchise was no easy task, yet Sony Santa Monica nailed it with the same vigour as Kratos lobbing his Leviathan Axe. In fact, many would argue that Ragnarok is the best game in the whole God of War line-up.

The combat is meaty, and the storytelling is beautiful. Plus, the environments are stunning, and the puzzles are engaging. Truthfully, it does everything its predecessor did but adds even more and continues the complex, multifaceted, character-driven narrative.

It’s easy to call this game a full 10/10, so seeing it this low down in the ranking might be a surprise. Still, there's no doubt that PlayStation fans adored this epic game.
