During the early days of the Xbox 360, the FPS ruled the roost. By the end of the console's lifespan, things had changed. Nobody could've quite anticipated the profound popularity of a roleplaying game on the system.

Because, if we're being facetious, that's kind of what GTA Online is: thousands of people playing a never-ending online game of cops and robbers.

In all seriousness, it was no-brainer that an online Grand Theft Auto was going to make bank if done correctly. Create your protagonist, head out into Los Santos and cause chaos with friends and strangers. Thankfully that's what Rockstar did, and they never stopped adding content to it.

Because players are still spending money on it's online portion, GTA V continues to routinely appear in sales charts even nine years later. Even if the Xbox 360 version's servers are now shut, players kept looting and racing until the last moment and moved with the game onto both Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

With it's own unfolding narrative, selection of exciting heists and of course creator tools to design your own content, GTA V is rightfully one of 360's best sellers. After all, it included two gigantic games and one was perhaps the most addictive online experience ever made.
