Of all the characters fans hoped would appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, none were more anticipated than Banjo-Kazooie. The former Nintendo 64 stalwarts hadn't had a sequel in over 10 years, but that didn't stop the calls for the mascot pairing to make a daring return.

Low and behold, 2019 finally let that dream come true as the Bird and Bear combo made their comeback during Nintendo's E3 presentation, thanks to a colourful and cheeky trailer that brought back all the feels.

It might not be the sequel they deserve, but just knowing Banjo-Kazooie exist in any shape or form is cause for celebration.

Time will tell if the cameo will lead to bigger things.
