10 Most Controversial Gaming Moments Of 2014 (So Far)

5. South Park: The Stick Of Truth Gets Censored In Europe And Australia

Southparkcensor Trey Parker and Matt Stone don't just find themselves in the middle of controversy, they actively encourage and embrace it. So when their satirical RPG title South Park: The Stick of Truth proved to be too much for some, it didn't come as a huge surprise. The scenes in question involved two abortion mini-games and a scene in which various characters get violently anally probed. The scenes were censored in Europe and Australia by publisher Ubisoft, in what they called a "market decision". Stone and Parker shrugged off the censorship, calling it "not that big a deal." Affected copies also contained background images and text created by Stone and Parker themselves, in place of the censored scenes. Many of the replacement backgrounds are just as funny as the original scenes themselves, turning the joke back onto the censorship boards. Below is the full, uncensored probing scene in question. It's very graphic, so we'd advise discrete viewing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wQZ4Dw5I8I
