The long-rumoured God of War 4 was unceremoniously outed online as God of War Ascension when it was posted up for pre-order on Amazon before anyone was even aware of its existence.
Not merely content with leaking the game's title, online retail supergiant Amazon leaked the game's box art and teaser trailer, revealing multiple details about the game, including its place in the series as a prequel.
Although the box art was not final, it was polished enough to convince the world that the leak was real, and everyone began to react to yet another angry Kratos in yet another God of War.
The leak happened literally the day before Sony had planned to reveal the game, with not just online retailers spoiling the surprise, but also the game's composer spilling the beans about the title.
