10 Embarrassing Gaming Moments Our Parents Walked In On
2. Aeris Dies - Final Fantasy VII
It's again time for a non-sexual video game embarrassment, because frankly, who wants their parents to know that a video game made them cry? A great book or a classic movie? Sure, but we're probably not quite at a place in society yet where it's acceptable to tell non-gamers that a crudely-rendered video game made our faces leak. That said, it's all about the heart of the story, and few games made us love their characters as much as Final Fantasy 7, such that when Aeris took a blade in the side from Sephiroth, we were absolutely devastated. Whether you played FF7 when you were 10 years old or 50, this moment had an undeniable emotional impact, though it's something that's difficult to explain to a lot of non-gamers, such that if they walked in your room to see you bawling over a fallen blocked mass, they'd probably assume you were kind of a wacko. Slowly but surely gamers are winning this argument, as the medium becomes more mainstream and its artistic merit becomes more apparent to the masses.
