10 'Helpful' Companions That Actually Make The Game HARDER

9. Pariah Dog - Fallout 2

Fallout 2 boasts a wide array of potential recruits, ranging from a teenage drug lord to a superintelligent Deathclaw.

Each of these companions comes with their own unique perk for travelling with them, and although most of these yield useful benefits to the player, there is one follower who bestows you with a curse instead.

The so-called Pariah Dog is a recruitable canine companion who joins your party as a bad omen.

To get him, the player needs to find him during a random encounter and then fail a hidden luck test that the game runs every few seconds when you're near him.

Once the Luck roll yields a negative result, the Pariah Dog will force himself onto your team, instantly bestowing you with his perk, which drops your Luck stat to zero.

The worst part is that the Pariah Dog cannot be dismissed, so unless you find a way to get him killed, you might as well consider yourself killed, as all your attacks will miss and all skill checks will fail.

The Pariah Dog is no Dogmeat, that's for sure.
