10 Hidden PS3 Gems You Should Track Down
1. Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger (2013)
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is a Western FPS so polished that is still gives off the illusion that you've stepped into directly into Sergio Leone's acclaimed Dollars Trilogy.
Everything from the cel-shaded visuals to the soundtrack are steeped in authenticity, and aside from that, the stripped down, arcade-like mechanics make it insanely fun.
Gunslinger casts players as Silas Greaves, an infamous bounty hunter who arrives in town to hunt down his nemesis Roscoe ‘Bob’ Bryant, the man responsible for killing his brothers. Players get to know Silas well, assuming control of him in flashback sequences detailing his younger exploits, which even include killing Butch Cassidy.
At times the story plays out in a tongue-in-cheek way, but there are twists here and there which keep you invested throughout, and the stellar voice acting from John Cygan certainly helps to maintain the Western illusion.
When Gunslinger arrived in 2013, it was polished, addictive and pulled you into its world of outlaws and bounty hunters. Although it no longer looks cutting edge, the game's quality still shines through when you fire it up today.
