10 Horror Video Games Dying To Be Remade
1. Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2 is arguably the greatest horror title of all time and certainly one of gaming's finest moments. A mature, finely-crafted experience, a remake of this game would be both a welcome return for the series, especially after the P.T. debacle, and doubtless one of next gen horror's highlights.
Silent Hill 2 followed James Sunderland as he goes to Silent Hill, a town he and his wife had visited in happier times, after receiving a letter from her, despite her being dead for over three years.
The game manages to marry its puzzle solving and survival horror gameplay with a nuanced and introspective narrative, one of gaming's finest, in a truly unforgettable experience. And yet despite its quality, there's nothing about Silent Hill 2 that couldn't be improved by current or next gen graphics, sound, and indeed a chance to rectify the admittedly poor acting.
Given that Silent Hill 2 is already regarded as one of gaming's finest moments, a remake utilising all the advantages modern game design can afford would all but guarantee horror fans being on the receiving end of one of the most disturbing and acclaimed games yet made.
