10 Iconic Video Game Heroes Nobody Admits Are Absolute Dicks

1. Jason Brody - Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 Jason Brody

Far Cry 3's Jason Brody is already an insufferable moron even before he becomes a psychotic killing machine. A well-off white boy seeking out thrills in the South Pacific, Jason and his group of upper-class friends start the third entry in the Far Cry series already stinking of pretension and ignorance, happily rejecting advice to stay away from the pirate-infested island that acting as the game's main location.

But the real problem comes once the character picks up a weapon and starts a crusade to free his friends and take revenge on their captors. Enjoying the violence a bit too much, by the end of the game Jason is happily ignoring the pleas of his companions to flee the island with them, opting instead to stay and wreak havoc on anyone who so much as looks at him the wrong way.

While Jason's descent is framed as the slow decline of a man corrupted by violence, it's executed in the actual game in a way that makes the character seem like a bloodthirsty dick from the very beginning.

Jason always comes across as a bit unhinged, and in the end all it takes for him to start living out his goriest fantasies is to be handed a gun and to be let loose in an exotic, unfamiliar land.
