10 Moments That Saved Dead Video Games

2. Andor Season II - Star Wars Battlefront Series

This entry is fairly remarkable due to the game's rather messy history and subsequent rise from the dead but its safe to say that Star Wars fans are thrilled beyond belief.

On launch, Star Wars Battlefront II drew a lot of criticism from players due to its bare-bones content and overwhelming emphasis on loot boxes. Naturally this left a sour taste in the mouths of players who felt the game fell way short of expectations and the predatory nature of its loot system was seen as a step too far.

The game soon found its way on to the monthly Playstation Plus free games service which did see a small uptake in players but the sour taste remained. Flash forward a few years and like a phoenix from the ashes, Star Wars Battlefront II saw a huge rise in the number of people hopping online for some space-themed shoot-outs and crying out for a sequel, spurred on by the release of season two of Andor - even Andor star Muhannad Ben has gotten involved in the campaign, being especially vocal about a third instalment.

So who knows, maybe we will get a Battlefront III after all.
