Cost: Real Money

Lego Dimensions is one of the biggest crossovers in video game history. You think a game where some of the most iconic characters in all of media just casually hang out would be talked about more. The problem is, to really get into the game it's going to cost you a lot of money.

At launch, just to get the starter pack would have put you back $100, but if you want to get the most from Lego Dimensions you're going to need to buy more characters.

The thing is, whilst many would happily pay $29.99 for the Portal 2 Level Pack, the same can't be said for many of the costly, undesirable characters.

To get the "iconic" characters of Laval, Cragger, and Eris from Lego Legends of Chima, you will need to buy three separate fun packs, each available for $14.99.

What about the characters from the Ghostbusters reboot? Those “fan-favourite” characters would have cost you $49.99 when it was released. Yeah, you got six levels based on the Ghostbusters reboot, but who really cares about the Ghostbusters reboot.

The game is good, but when the characters cost more than studs it makes sense that Lego Dimensions was a failure.
