10 Most Memorable Video Game Bosses Of All Time
5. The Joker (Batman: Arkham)
Yes, he's not just one of the greatest villains in movie history, the Joker may also be the most memorable bad guy from the last twenty years of video games.
Even though another psychotic clown villain who wants to watch the world burn could have easily made this list (hello, Kefka!), it's still the Joker who remains the quintessential, face-painted madman. And it's not just about his deranged worldview, either.
Joker may be a sociopath without empathy or regard for the well-being of civilization, but he's certainly not an idiot. And the Arkham series does an excellent job of pulling that cerebral intelligence to the surface. That shrewdness made him much more terrifying.
There have been plenty of impressive portrayals of the Joker in films, but Mark Hamill's incredible voice acting brings some extra maniacal energy to the character that makes him seem even more unpredictable, a trait that he makes good on by the end of the first game.
In fact, you kinda wish this was a movie. At least that way you wouldn't be required to have actual interactions with the character. It might help you sleep a little easier at night.
