10 Obscure Games You Might Not Have Tried

9. Home

While Home is, in a lot of ways, an extremely flawed game, you sort of have to play it for how unique it is. A lot of games claim your choices affect the plot; games like Mass Effect, Deus Ex, and Heavy Rain all have this mechanic in them, but Home is the first game that I've seen that is entirely based around your choices and discoveries. You are a man who wakes up with amnesia in what appears to be a factory or sewer of some kind. From there you must explore the game world (which is really quite massive for such an inexpensive game) and find out what happened to you, and possibly your family. There are so many outcomes for Home, the ones that actually make full sense are few and far between. Hell, there's actually a website set up by the creators specifically for users to post their interpretations of the ending they got. Because of this, Home can be played over and over again, and it's beautiful pixel graphics and heart-pumping atmosphere never cease to impress. For only $3, you owe it to yourself to try out Home. Home is available on Steam for $2.99.

Born in London, England, James is a media sponge. He consumes media of all shapes and sizes, from movies, to games, to music. He'll take it all. Apart from spending most of his life surrounded by media (his parents are musicians and his brother is a writer), he has been writing film reviews professionally for almost two years, and spends most of his time watching films, playing video games, and generally being an extremely anti-social person. Luckily, that leaves him a lot of time to write articles, such as the ones you will see on this page. Enjoy!
