3. The Rhodes Gunsmith - Red Dead Redemption 2
Although the gunsmith in the small idyllic town of Rhodes seems to be a relatively upstanding citizen, it can quickly be revealed that he holds a dark secret literally in his basement.
As the player wanders around the town they will hear the townspeople whisper rumors about the gunsmith and the death of his son, which already sounds ominous enough before the player wanders near their shop.
Looking at the shop from a distance they might be able to see a small barred up window near the ground that can easily be missed. If they get close enough to the window a hand will reach out and grab the player, begging for help.
The player can then enter the gunshop and threaten the store owner to take them to the basement where they will discover a young boy chained to a bed in a sailor outfit.
The player then learns that the store owner's son actually drowned after accidentally being knocked into a river while learning to shoot a rifle with him. The store owner in his grief and obvious madness then decided to kidnap a random teenager and dress him up as his son, pretending that the boy didn't die at all.
