10 Video Game Franchises On PS Now To Keep You Busy During Lockdown

It's time for a gaming binge.

God Of War Ps4
Sony

During the uncertain times that everyone across the globe finds themselves in, it has provided ample time for gamers to complete their backlog of titles sat on their shelves. However, if you don't have anything on hand and are looking for a whole library of titles which will keep you occupied for long periods of time during the lockdown, there is one place to find them.

PS Now is PlayStation's subscription service to rival Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass. In times gone by it has struggled to compete with its great rival, with Sony providing a relatively poor offering for players. However, last year it updated to become more line with its counterpart and it has proven successful. The service now offers a large catalogue, mainly of PS4 titles (that you can thankfully download) but also with some PS3 and PS2 games to be streamed.

The games available include a host of big name Playstation exclusives and most of the best releases of this console generation. Even better, all PlayStation players can take advantage of a seven day trial allowing them to enjoy the catalogue, so now is the perfect time to give it a go.

10. Yakuza

God Of War Ps4
Sega

One of the most underrated series in the industry is Yakuza. The games follow the now traditional open world paths which see the player following the main story whilst able to go off track and explore at your own will. However, it has a completely different feel to other games in the genre.

The first title in the series was released for Playstation 2, with two games, Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 available to play on PS Now. Both were originally released on Playstation 3 before being remastered for the current generation of consoles. In particular, the latter is a title that gamers should give a try, as it is one of the highest rated in the series.

Yakuza offers you the chance to play as multiple characters across a host of cities in Japan, and it comes with a great authentic feel to it. The combat style is the biggest differential from most open world environments but it doesn't take long to get used it and offers a variety of ways to play in the process.

If you like your huge scale crime based games it is a great time to embrace the oddities of this franchise.
