10 Video Game Movies That Could Genuinely Work

The Elder Scrolls is as much a world as it is a game. There is an equal amount of enjoyment to be found in reading about the legends, myths and fables of the world, as there is in slicing your way through troll after troll. The most dangerous aspect of making a movie about the series is removing the explorative nature of the games.

But, if you managed to create that awe and spectacle on the silver screen, then you'd have something epic. It could be the next big fantasy movie if done correctly. Building on the games weaker points, the movies could be the more character-driven experience, creating a story with a lot more heart and meaning behind it.

The world is also so deep and intricate, that there are hundreds of pre-existing stories that could be made into a movie. The story of the Tribunal and Nerevar. Tiber Septim's conquering of the entirety of Tamriel. Akavir and their impact on Tamriel. The Great War and the Aldmeri Dominion. Or smaller stories like The Markarth Incident and the prelude to the Civil War. If they were bold, they could overhaul the Skyrim Civil War and give it real depth and character.
