10 Video Game Sub-Bosses Who DESTROYED Players

4. White/Golden Lynel- Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

I wasn’t surprised to hear that the Darknut was infamous for being a tricky customer when compared to its dungeon’s boss in Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of Time’s Dark Link was definitely more of a rough customer than the “real” boss, Morpha.

Zelda games, though not necessarily very difficult, have had a storied past of having sub and mid-bosses tricker than end-of-dungeon beasties.

Yet, none embody this more to me than the White or Gold flavours of Lynel, lion centaurs with huge clubs, explosive arrows and... oh, five quadrillion health points, who like nothing more than to chill around the grassy fields, drinking an ice-cold 7up, and murdering androgynous elf guys.

In a game where side-missions often include things like “defeat all Bokoblins“, or “clear out an area of all monsters”, the fact there’s a whole mission devoted to going into a Lynel’s lair and avoiding fighting it at all costs should be a good indicator that this guy is going to hit like a truck.

If Scar had been a Lynel, screw the wildebeest, he’d have just punted Mufasa into outer space.
