The summer of 2016 will forever be known as the biggest international revival in Pokémon interest ever, thanks to the AR game that made gamers all go back outside.

As popular as Pokémon Go was at it's height, it was inevitably met with pushback in the press. The game itself was not dangerous, it was more about the simple fact people lost their spacial awareness. Too busy staring at one's phone whilst moving through a busy road, be it for Pokémon Go or Twitter, is bad news.

As such there were countless claims and stories of players who found themselves with injuries or in dangerous situations because they were too busy trying to catch a Sandshrew.

One notable survival of horrific events linked to Pokémon Go is the anonymous British man who found himself walking onto train tracks whilst playing. He suffered major electrical burns across his body and even had to have his leg amputated.

Perhaps most grim of all is the website Pokémon Go Death Tracker which is as unpleasant as it sounds. Most fatalities linked the game are more circumstantial because the victim just so happened to be outside, but let's just say that there's a reason the game flags a warning if it detects your movement speed as being too fast and thinks you're driving.
