10 Video Games That Forced You To Answer Impossible Questions
1. Fable 2
Defeating Lucien at the very end of the game, the player is given a difficult choice between three very tantalising propositions; wealth, love or sacrifice. Wealth rewards the player with 1,000,000 gold, a hefty sum that has some serious advantages, allowing you to buy up loads of property, or buy some shiny new weapons. Love brings your family back to life, including your sister, spouse(s), children and (most importantly) your trusty dog. Sacrifice brings back everyone who has died building Luciens spire, countless innocent strangers that youve never met.
The Decision: How selfish should you be? Together, the three choices allow you to be incredibly selfish, quite selfish or entirely selfless. Personally, I don't think you can put a price on your dog's life, but then 1,000,000 might just be enough to sway me.
Regardless of what you decide, you're going to feel like you've been robbed of something; either your best friend, a lot of money or the lives of the people of Albion. It's certainly not a win win situation. In fact, its hardly even a win.
