10 Video Games That Knew You Lied

1. Darth Malak Knows Who You Really Are - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

BATMAN ARKHAM RIDDLER
Bioware

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic gamely asks the player - is something really a lie if you absolutely believe it with all the conviction in your body?

After all, the player wakes up at the start of the game as an amnesiac and then trains to become a Jedi - a lie that doesn't fool the game's primary antagonist, Darth Malak, much at all.

At the very end of KOTOR, Malak reveals that he's acutely aware of the player's self-deception, that they're actually the rogue Jedi Knight Darth Revan, who after being left for dead by Malak had their mind wiped by the Jedi Council.

It's admittedly a reveal more shocking to the audience and Revan themselves than anyone else, but even so, it's galling to know that the entire time you've spent playing the game, Malak has known your true nature, even better than you did yourself.
