10 Video Games That Let You Kill God
9. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)
There are many godlike entities around to show their faces and/or tentacle-y features in the world of Nirn. The Nine Divines are the main icons of human worship in Tamriel, while the Daedra, who hail from the realm of Oblivion, are seen as gods for the sheer destructive power they lord over their lessers.
And in-between all that is Alduin, a mythical dragon said to be the one to bring about the apocalypse and reform the world from its ashes. He proclaims himself the "first-born of Akatosh", which, if true, makes him a direct descendant of the Nine Divines' chief figure.
Cultists worship Alduin as a god in his own right regardless, though, and you, the Dragonborn, definitely get a good taste of his power throughout The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Obviously, you can't have him ending the world, so, with the aid of Alduin's brother, Paarthurnax, you track the dragon down to the literal afterlife, Sovngarde, and only there can you finally Fus Ro Dah him back to whatever hellhole he originally crawled out of.
