10 Video Games That Were Vindicated By History
6. Battlefield 4
The Battlefield series became EA's flagship first-person shooter in the 2010s and was Call of Duty's primary competitor. Its main advantage was the use of the Frostbite Engine, which allowed players to commit unparalleled amounts of environmental destruction.
In 2013, Battlefield 4 was released but became infamous for having one of the worst launches in gaming history.
Across multiple platforms, the title was riddled with bugs, glitches, and other technical issues that plagued gamers. This even led to some legal action with EA becoming the target of multiple law suits, questioning whether the company had deceived investors regarding the state of the game.
Thankfully, DICE managed to turn things around by patching the game up which eventually led to players realizing how deep and effective Battlefield 4's mechanics really were. Gamers were also rewarded with numerous DLC packs that were well-received, with some released for free.
And with the release of more divisive entries like Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042, the game has since risen in its ranks, considered one of the best in the series and one of the best military shooters out there.
