Anyone who's familiar with at least the basics of the Witcher's story knows that Ciri, Geralt's equally pale-haired protégé, is destined to be one of the most powerful beings in the world.

However, what can come off as a surprise is that Witcher 3 features three radically different stories of how she can utilize her powers.

As a child born with Elder Blood, Ciri is capable of wielding powerful magic beyond the abilities of regular sorceresses, even possessing the ability to travel across dimensions.

The game's main story shows how Ciri learns to control these powers, going from a helpless and frustrated girl into a proper magic-wielding badass. However, there is another equally important aspect of her training that will decide what future her skills will give her—how Geralt interacts with her.

If you are overly protective of her, Ciri will die using her powers to stop the White Frost. However, letting her be assertive will make her survive.

Furthermore, if you don't let her join the Lodge of Sorceresses, Ciri will become a Witcher, while the opposite will have her transform into the new Empress of Nilfgaard.

And while the upcoming game obviously takes the former option as canon, you can't deny that Empress Ciri is an awesome outcome.
