2. Anorith Is An Anomalocaris

What Is It?

The name Anomalocaris means "abnormal shrimp" which is, probably, a bit of an understatement. Its eyes contain around 16,000 lenses, it has a disk-shaped mouth made from 32 overlapping plates, and teeth in its throat. Its anatomy makes so little sense that its different body parts were thought to be three different creatures until 1985.

Fun Fact:

Although scientists will describe the Anomalocaris as a shrimp like creature, like all things prehistoric, the thing was unnecessarily huge. This little cutie probably measured up to a metre long, thats about about the size of your leg that it brushes up against next time you go sea swimming.
