Soon(ish) to be returning to our screens, until Ghost Recon was exploring the Far Cry-like expanses of Wild Lands' jungle tundra, it was stealthily sneaking through alleyways and nailing headshots from across maps in perfectly executed tactical operations.

The more futuristic and easily-accessible FPS on Ubisoft's roster next to Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter was a landmark event for the Xbox 360. While not a launch day game, it became synonymous with showing off the power of the hardware, being one of the first titles to be developed on both newer and older machines, and boy could you tell the difference.

Graphics knocked us for six right off the bat, with things like picture-in-picture and particle effects giving GRAW that quintessential "This isn't possible anywhere else" feel that so many new games continue to strive for.

A true-to-life feel, huge variety of weapons and squad commands, the Tom Clancy branding elevating production considerably and a studio that were firing on all cylinders, GRAW remains the finest Ghost Recon, only just niching 2012's Future Soldier for a spot on this list.
