18 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Uncharted Series
17. Drake's Fortune Contained The First Platinum Trophy
So much time has passed since the Trophy/Achievement system was integrated into gaming that it’s hard to remember when games didn’t have them. In fact, Trophies weren’t added to the Playstation 3 until 2008, two years after its initial release. This was in direct response to the Xbox's Achievement system, which had proved to be incredibly successful.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was one of the very first games to implement a Trophy system, which had to be added via a post-launch patch, as the game had already been out for almost a year. It was also the first - and at the time only - game to contain a Platinum Trophy; the much coveted award given to anyone who obtains every trophy in a game.
In this way, Uncharted arguably set the standard for all that Trophy collecting that would become synonymous with the Playstation brand.
