2 Million Joined STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC Beta

There were actually 2.4 million users who registered on the official website and 2 million of those signed up to play the public beta.

Star Wars: The Old Republic according to EA had one of the largest Beta tests ever for a game, with around 2 million people joining the open public testing for the MMO. There were actually 2.4 million users who registered on the official website and 2 million of those signed up to play the public beta. In other words, you should probably expect the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic to be one of the biggest ever for an MMO. These statistics were announced at the annual Global Media and Communications Conference, where EA also announced that each player averaged 12 hours over the Thanksgiving weekend with 9 million hours "cumulatively played over that stretch". EA also mentioned that because of the games built in fan base and large number of registered users, EA will launch a advertising campaign that is more focused on attracting people for the long term ("two to four years"). In other words don't expect the normal EA advertising blitz you normally get when a high profile EA game is released. I would like to know some people's opinions on the Star Wars: The Old Republic beta, did you enjoy it, was it a big turn off and are now not going to purchase the game or did you not even play the beta? Release Date: December 20th
