19. Attack On Titan Crossover - Assassin's Creed Shadows

A mere two months after Assassin's Creed Shadows received its first DLC, a free update was thrown in that saw Naoe and Yasuke crossing over with Attack on Titan.

Despite the fact Hajima Isayama's manga and anime are hugely successful, the news was pretty perplexing. Assassin's Creed is fantastical, but tossing man-eating giants into a samurai-based story sounded a step too far.

Of course, this gripe could be forgiven if this quest was executed well. Also, the idea of the esteemed heroes battling a legion of Titans gave off major Shadow of the Colossus vibes.

Unfortunately, this update was a giant disappointment. The textures for the Titans are bare-bones, making them resemble something from a PS3 game. Although the colossal monsters are meant to be unnerving, it's not supposed to be because they look unfinished.

To cap it off, players don't get to fight a single Titan. Instead, the majority of this insultingly brief crossover involves climbing poorly designed platforms.

The entire scenario is bereft of innovation, to the point where it's a wonder why the creators of both properties were eager to collaborate in the first place.
