20 Weirdest Licensed Video Games EVER
5. Revolution X
First-person shooters were a staple of the arcade scene back in the day, with any recognisable property being considered for some good old fashioned shooty-bang-bang times - one of the strangest and most well-remembered however is Revolution X.
Set in a dystopian version of 1996, the world has been taken over by the nefarious New Order Nation, a corrupt military unit that have declared war on youth culture, outright banning music, television and everything else that kids use to numb themselves to the awful state of the world. Players take control of an unnamed protagonist who is due to attend a secret Aerosmith show at Club X, only for the band to be captured by the New Order Nation, meaning players must take up a firearm and go globe-trotting to rescue each member of the band and bring down the New Order Nation in the process.
Admittedly, it's a pretty wild premise for a game based on a rock band but the title was a massive success with fans and critics, with praise lavished upon its simple-yet-satisfying gameplay, multiple-paths to explore and a rocking soundtrack supplied by the band themselves. Unfortunately the game remains hard to play these days due to it's several ports being incredibly rare and considered by fans to be pale imitations of the original.
