24. Who Is Tony Redgrave?
Fans of Devil May Cry, and particularly its animated series, will be familiar with the name 'Tony Redgrave'. Used as an alias in the cartoon, the first sighting of the name was inscribed on Dante's pistols, Ebony & Ivory, in his introductory game.
Why is this relevant in a Resident Evil list, you may wonder?
Well, Tony Redgrave was the name originally used for the protagonist in an early iteration of Resident Evil 4. Back then it was a creepy-castle affair, which producer Shinji Mikami felt was too divergent from the horror series.
Which just so happened to become Devil May Cry, and thus the Redgrave name lives on...
