A noble, proud warrior, Cullen is the Inquisitor's primary adviser on military matters. But the cool fact is that you had him under your nose for the whole series, and didn't even notice. I'm not joking, Inquisition is already the 3rd appearance the templar makes in the Dragon Age universe.
In fact, if the player chose the Magi Origin questline in Origins, Cullen kept an eye on him from the start. The main protagonist may change every new installment, but Cullen seems to be a big part of every single game and even DLC.
Don't quite know if Cullen was on the developers' minds all the time and if they have a plan with him or if it's just a coincidence, but we sure would love to run around as the most respected templar in the land.
