Poor Lara Croft has survived countless brutal beatings throughout the years.

Ever since the days that she was sporting her titular triangle tattas, Lara's tomb raiding adventures have gotten her into a multitude of dangerous and life-threatening situations, but even the terrifying square sharks of Tomb Raider 2 cannot compare to the gut-wrenching death animations in 2013's Tomb Raider.

The first traditional Tomb Raider game in five whole years, the reboot paves the way for the new trilogy by detailing the journey of Lara Croft from comfortable archaeologist, to wild tomb-raiding adventurer.

On a first playthrough, because you, like Lara, are cutting your teeth, you are bound to wind up in several grisly deadly situations. Whether it's being mauled by a wolf, shot in the neck with arrows, electrocuted, crushed by boulders, strangled, run through the stomach by a particularly strong tree branch, every single death in Tomb Raider is gut-wrenching, painful to watch, and makes you truly despise dying.

The worst by far is when you have to glide Lara through some river rapids, clearing the debris blocking the path using your shotgun; miss the shot and you'll cascade into the wood and spikes, impaling Lara through the neck and leaving her dangling helplessly for a few moments. Waterslides have never been so stressful!
