9. Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077's first teaser was released five years ago. You'd think that'd be enough time for CD Projekt Red to finish a game, but they've probably been a little busy with The Witcher 3 in the mean time.
This futuristic cyberpunk game, set in the same universe as the Cyberpunk 2020 role-playing game, seems a huge departure in terms of genre from the developers' previous games, but they've proven themselves to be great at making games.
The game was very much a fan favourite at the conference, with pre-E3 buzz singling it and a few other games out as ones to watch. Yet at the Microsoft conference it was treated just as a regular game, with a trailer and not much else. Whilst the trailer had code hidden at the beginning that won perceptive viewers a few free copies of The Witcher 3, a notable absence in the trailer was any kind of release date.
Given that CD Projekt Red's games are huge, and it wasn't featured as much as you'd expect in E3, it seems that we're going to have to wait a while longer for its release. Given the source material, it'd make sense to be released in 2020 - either way, we're not seeing more of it until next year.
