9 Best Beach Levels In Gaming

2. Seashell Shore - Spyro: Year Of The Dragon

Delfino Isle Mario Sunshine

Spyro: Year of the Dragon has some of the best swimming controls out of any game. You're just as fast in water as you are on land, the only difference is you can go in any direction now. So even though Seashell Shore focuses on swimming more so than any other entry on this list does, that doesn't make it a bad beach level.

In Seashell Shore you alternate between exploring the depths of the ocean and exploring the sunny beaches above.

Whilst in the water you'll do fun common beach activities such as fighting a robot shark, freeing seals from their octopus oppressors, and swimming through a tunnel avoiding mines. The beach area has just as many fun activities such as destroying a giant sandcastle before you're blown up and looking for a secret cave to rescue a dragon egg.

The level looks even better in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy although the swimming controls have been altered there to make them feel worse for some reason. Come on Toys for Bob, the swimming controls were so perfect, why did you make them slower?
