BAFTA Games 2013: Overview Of The Night's Events And Winners

Best Performer

Bafta This award was given by lovable comedian Ed Byrne, who tells the audience how he was the man that introduced Dara O'Briain to XBox Live. Dara: "Your voice is coming out my TV! Ed: "Your voice comes out mine all the time." The best performer category gives the voice over actors a chance to claim themselves as BAFTA winning actors, although I'm sure with the technological advancements in motion capture now, performer is probably the better term to use. Definitely a great selection, with two cast members from The Walking Dead and once more Dear Esther that has received a few nominations but is yet to pick up an award. The Nominations Nolan North (Nathan Drake, Uncharted: Golden Abyss) Melissa Hutchison (Clementine, The Walking Dead) Danny Wallace (The Narrator, Thomas Was Alone) Nigel Carrington (The Narrator, Dear Esther) Adrian Hough (Haytham, Assassin's Creed III) Dave Fennoy (Lee Everett, The Walking Dead) Winner Danny Wallace - The Narrator, Thomas Was Alone Yes Man! writer, Mr. Wallace seems to be doing fairly well in the games industry, already playing a part in the Assassin's Creed series. The role Wallace plays works incredibly well in this beautiful game, the way he tells the tale is reminiscent of being told a story as a child, well for me anyway, is that strange? Somewhat cheesy at times when he recites passionately the tale and feelings of the small blocks, but don't take that the wrong way, it just adds to this magical world and it's difficult to see anyone else playing this role. It's also great to see more indie games winning well deserved awards.
