Before GTA V: 10 Forgotten Features That Were Deleted Pre-Release

9. Sledgehammer

gtahammer Grand Theft Auto Vice City was a notable game in the franchise due to the fact that it focused on melee weapons more than any other title in the series. It even had designated tool shops such as Bunch of Tools, Tooled Up and Screw This which sold a variety of DIY-based weapons from screwdrivers, meat cleavers to hammers. The latter weapon would never feature in a GTA game again after Vice City, however, a sledgehammer was initially due to appear in GTA IV as a weapon before it too was cut. The reason why it was removed from the final game is still unknown, and the model of the sledgehammer can still be found in the game's files. Even though the weapon was removed from the game, it can still be found in the hands of construction workers, though it cannot be interacted with in any way. The hammer was one of my favourite melee weapons in Vice City and I would have loved to have been able to use it in GTA IV.
