Irrational Games announce that the upcoming Bioshock sequel will hit stores in North America on the 16th of October and worldwide on the 19th.
Irrational Games has just announced that the upcoming Bioshock sequel will hit stores in North America on the 16th of October and worldwide on the 19th, confirming expectations that the game would land in the busy 4th Quarter period usually reserved for the biggest releases of the year. The press release includes the following quote from Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine:
After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition. BioShock Infinite, developed by Irrational Games, won over 75 editorial awards at this years E3, including the Game Critics Awards Best of Show. In this first-person shooter set in 1912, the player assumes the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, who is sent to Columbia to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood. He develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so they may escape from a city literally falling from the sky. DeWitt learns to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harnesses the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities.BioShock Infinite will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and Windows PC with an international release of 19th October 2012.
