5. COD Responding To Criticism
Repetitive, unimaginative and progress-less are just some of the comments labelled at Call of Duty since the hay-day of Modern Warfare and the not so hay-day of Modern Warfare 2. Accused of churning out games to satisfy multi-player requirements and giving a 10-minute story to make the game seem even half worth its ridiculous price tag, COD needed to respond to this criticism to avoid a massive implosion of its fan base; Black Ops 2 looks like it has brought that to the floor. More story, drastic changes to how the story is told and more player interaction to this world means this game is taking what people have said about it seriously and its desire to fix these perceptions means that if it brings this, Black Ops 2 will not only be better than the biggest release of the year; but another genre definer. Halo 4 is released on November 6th, and Black Ops 2 drops a week later.
