Could Star Wars Be Featured In Kingdom Hearts III?

kingdomhearts Fans of Kingdom Hearts may be in for a rather unexpected after-effect of the Disney buyout of Lucasfilm last year. This one concerns the beloved video game series, Kingdom Hearts. For those who don't know (and shame on you) Kingdom Hearts is the crossover series between the world of Disney and the characters from Square Enix's Final Fantasy series and The World Ends With You title. In these games, characters from both franchises make cameos and fight in almost every location that you can think of from the wonderful world of Disney. I assure you that these are must play games, and a series with a very loyal fanbase. So, with the third instalment just around the corner the rumour mill has gone into overdrive. One of the main things being discussed is who will be appearing in the next game. This is being fuelled by the fact that Disney has acquired two major franchises since the release of the last game, Lucasfilm and Marvel. These acquisitions have many speculating that if any Disney character can appear in Kingdom Hearts and Disney owns Star Wars - does that mean that Star Wars, as a Disney world, will be a location in the game? Or can Luke, Han, Leia and so on also appear in the new game? The answer, possibly... star warsTetsuya Nomura, of Square Enix and the man who created Kingdom Hearts, is quoted as saying that he wants these crossovers to happen in Kingdom Hearts III. Nomura said the following in an interview conducted last weekend with the French gaming site Finaland.
"We€™ve been talking about Star Wars itself since it became Disney€™s content recently...When I the news I was like, 'Wow! Wow!' Yeah obviously it€™s gonna be great if we could add it, but like I said there are a lot of restrictions and rules by Disney so we don€™t know what€™s gonna happen but yeah, we'll see."
There is huge scope here. Disney can literally hand the keys of the Star Wars Universe to Nomura, the man who is directing the game. We have seen that small Star Wars cameos can be a nice touch to a game such as in Soul Calibur 4, so why not do it again on a grand scale? Nomura apparently would like to see this, "of course it would be great if we could add licenses as well." But I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next. The next question is will any Marvel characters make an appearance too? Who would you like to see in the Kingdom Hearts series? Let us know in the comments below.
