Well, here we are. After EIGHT YEARS since its first announcement, Cyberpunk 2077 has dropped onto the salivating masses, some of which have imbued so much of this title since 2012 that they're legally more of it than human (which is fitting, considering the focus on cyber-ware upgrades).

The question on everyone's lips is: Was it worth the wait?

Thankfully, yes.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most immersive, impressive and downright dense games I've ever had the pleasure of playing, and while it's not perfect, these dings on the surface did little to dampen my day.

Now, before I start what is likely to be an absolute gushing of praise, I need to state a few things clearly:

I've played this game from a "Corpo" character class standpoint, which affected my starting area, mission layout and much of the prologue. Understandably, there are still vast swathes of this game I've not explored, including a large portion of the desert wasteland surrounding the city.

Cyberpunk 2077 also has a whopper of what you'd call an "extended prologue", as I was still being taught new mechanics until about 4-5 hours in. As such, while I won't be spoiling any of the main narrative, I will reference some skills and upgrades you accrue along this period that can change gameplay dramatically.

So, where to begin?

It's a question I asked myself over and over before writing, because I have lost myself to Night City both figuratively and literally.

This place is HUGE, and the sheer amount of content present in nearly every district is overspilling with distractions, to the point that the prologue section I mentioned might take you a whole lot longer as you scurry between side quests looking for new loot and clothing to deck out your character.

Speaking of which, let's start there.
