D.I.C.E Award Nominations Have 'Journey' At the Forefront

Journey has come out as the clear forerunner with 11 nominations, while The Walking Dead lands in second with it's 8, Far Cry 3 gathered 7 and Halo 4 collecting 6 nominations. It seems that Journey and The Walking Dead are going to fight it out again as they have done all awards season, and deservedly so. Those two games really are a cut above the rest. That is nothing on any other nominee, those games are just that good. You can check out my interview with Journey's Grammy, and now D.I.C.E nominated composer Austin Wintoryhere. It is beautiful score, but that is a very tough field as I am a big fan of all the others in that group, Far Cry 3 currently being on repeat on my Itunes playlist. But by far the fiercest group I can see is Outstanding Character Performance featuring FemShep, Vaas Montenegro, Cortana and Lee Everett. Lee Everett is sure to walk away with the award, but all of those were incredibly well portrayed characters in their own way and it is a testament to how far storytelling has come in the last year for the medium (even if I would have swapped out Tiny Tina for Captain Martin Walker from Spec Ops: The Line).
