Dark Souls 2: 10 Reasons It's Your Ultimate Test As A Gamer

The sequel to one of the greatest games of all time, Dark Souls 2 continues down the same path to hammer home another astounding victory.

"It can't be that hard" comes the first. "I'm on New Game +10 and I'm tearing the place up" answers the second. "Dark Souls is easy" comes the inevitable flurry of thirds. On March 13th, the Dark Souls community message boards were full of comments like that. Players had spent two years in the presence of the game and had picked it clean. There were no secrets left in Lordran - every hidden room had been discovered, every facet of the lore had been explored, the game was laid bare for all to see. Memory was the biggest killer to repeated playthroughs; every enemy spawned in exactly the same place, every boss had the same tactics and attacks and once you had finished the game once or twice, nothing that could be thrown at you came as a surprise. But that is all changing. Dark Souls 2 has been out for a month now and is primed for a release on the PC on April 25th. Developer From Software are determined to bring a new experience to players, something unexpected and something wonderful. Moreover though, the world of Drangleic is a dangerous place and complacency will once again get you killed. If you thought Dark Souls was hard, you haven't seen anything yet - danger is behind every corner and death will come frequently. Are you ready for the challenge? Are you ready to be tested by your beloved medium? Good, because here are 10 reasons why Dark Souls 2 will take you to breaking point and back again.
