The tired trope of zombies, third-person open world fatigue and similarities to Last Of Us (whose sequel is coming soon enough) all worked against it - yet in the last month, the buzz has turned around ever so slightly.
April's quieter release schedule has given it room to breathe, and the recent preview rounds praised it as a damn solid production, with polished game mechanics, an involving central story and an emphasis on pushing the boundaries of its well-worn sub-genre.
Also, let's mention that it has been far too long since we got a big-deal PS4 exclusive and the fans are hungry.
